Do you need to be angry to be a social entrepreneur?

I was alerted to a blog by Bloggers Circle, which suggests that to be a social entrepreneur you need to be angry. Last week I listened to Radio Four’s Bottom Line and James Dyson said to innovate you need to be angry. He was angry that vacumn cleaners didn’t suck and his hugely successful business is the result. Martha Lane-Fox said to be creative you needed to care. To care don’t you need to be angry?

What we see daily is that passions and interests drive entrepreneurs, and for those tackling a social problem the energy they throw into solving something they are angry about is astounding.

Take for example Grant who set up ethical coffee company Mozzo because he was angry at the lack of use of green technologies within the industry. We have lots of examples of inspiring social entrepreneurs - so if you are angry about something why not think if your anger could be turned into a business idea!
