GEW 09 Meet Up - Yorkshire and the Humber
July 17th, 2009 by Diane BeckettOn Thursday 16th November while the glorious sunshine was beaming down on to Leeds City Centre, representatives from around the Yorkshire and Humber region met to hear about Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009. This great event took place in the prestigious surroundings 3 Albion Place, the headquarters of the Institute of Directors in Leeds. Partners discussed their plans for creating high impact events across the region.
After a tasty networking lunch our Head of Region for Yorkshire and the Humber Jane Walton provided an interactive overview of the themes of the week. This was followed by a PR hints and tips session from Make Your Mark Ambassadors Lindsey Davies and Emma Lupton of Open Communications. Emma and Lindsey provided excellent advice and guidance on how to use public relations both regionally and nationally to make the biggest impact. The Make Your Mark Ambassadors also shared their passion for enterprise and raised awareness that organisations should consider involving our fabulous bank of Ambassadors when planning events to add an extra inspirational element.
The event was a great success with partners developing and building new relationships, sharing ideas and potential budgets, creating a real buzz of excitement for the build up to GEW 09.
Thank you everyone for attending and we look forward to hearing about how your ideas develop.
Watch this space for amazing GEW 09 events form the Yorkshire and Humber region!

It was certainly great to be part of yesterday’s event. If the feedback from those present is anything to go by Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009 is going to be bigger and better than ever across Yorkshire and the Humber.
We can’t wait to hear about the events and activities planned and, as Make Your Mark ambassadors, play a role in inspiring and supporting others.
