Amazing creative opportunities for creative 13-19 year olds
June 15th, 2009 by hbourneOn Friday I went to a fab event to celebrate the success of BBC Blast, a BBC Learning initiative which brings together creative teenagers and gives them loads of opportunities to attend workshops, get creative intern placements, find mentors and enter competitions.
The impact it has on some of those who attend is plain to see. AJ, who is now the ‘face’ of Blast attended a workshop and as a consequence got a creative internship at the BBC. There she got the chance to do some presenting for Blast and is now the ‘face’ of its programming. All from attending a workshop…
Another talented lady went along to a workshop (encouraged by the Kids Company) and is now embarking on a creative internship. At the workshop she discovered a talent for poetry and having heard some at the event she is certainly someone to look out for in the future.
So if you, or someone you know, is not sure of their career options or what to do with their creative talents get them to check out the BBC Blast website - it’s a great resource!
