Simon was working in the charity sector when he decided that images of Africa ought to come from a local perspective, as well as providing employment and training opportunities for people who lived there.

Juvi Media operated as a not-for-profit company set up by Simon Fairway. It worked with African photographers and filmmakers to supply engaging and evocative imagery to charities, the education sector, ethically minded companies and the media in the UK and beyond. Since November 2005, Juvi Media has produced short films for Plan UK, Action Aid, VSO and UK Sport. The organisation no longer operates as Juvi Media, but Simon can still be contacted with questions about working with photographers and filmmakers in developing countries.
