Amanda Zuydervelt

Whilst attempting to organise her own personal trips, Amanda noticed how difficult it was to access up-to-date relevant information on the best places to eat, drink and shop. She created Stylebible in order to provide a concentrated guide of the most exceptional places to go and things to do in the style capitals of the world.

Amanda says, “It takes determination, passion and perseverance to make a business into a success. The most important thing I have learnt is to never give up.”

Amanda initially launched the business in 2005 with no external funding help, but experienced a change of fortune after taking part in the BBC’s Dragon’s Den. Although she did not receive the backing of the Dragons, she gained a huge amount of press coverage as a result of her appearance on the show. From just one feature, Stylebible had over 600 people register as members in one day.

Stylebible now has 38 journalists contributing features and reviews covering seven soon to be twelve cities; ensuring members have up-to-date information on the hippest and most fashionable places to be!
