Feature: Artist management

The music manager is part deal broker, part baby sitter and 100% opportunity exploiter. You are the centre of business for your artist. You do the selling, they do the arty bit.

Feature: A & R

A&R is the department of a record company that finds and/or develops bands, songwriters, or musicians. More often than not A&R reps help out with a band's artistic and commercial viability.

Feature: PR / press officer

Press officers are on the front-line of music public relations. Their day-to-day job is to try and manage their artists’ presence in newspapers and magazines.

Feature: Radio & TV plugger

Aside from the rather silly name, radio and TV pluggers actually perform a vital job for any artist/ band. It is vitally important that radio and TV stations play music before its release date, so that fans of the music can see and hear it before buying.

Feature: Promoter

Two big questions as a manager and/or promoter: 1. What does the consumer really think about my artist? and 2.How do I safely make my artist more successful?

Feature: Publisher

After all the music has gone and your band isn’t so cool and all the rage, it is the publishing of the music that will keep the money rolling in, long past your chart sell by date.

Feature: Tour manager

Away from all the worries of the recorded music industry the live music scene is thriving, often becoming an artist's biggest source of income and employing tens of thousands of people. The live music scene covers the backroom gigs in local pubs to worldwide stadium tours.
