Entrepreneurs, British business and the credit crunch

Research released today (18 November 2008) show a strong belief and optimism in the role entrepreneurs and business can play in the challenging global economic downturn. The findings have been released to mark the start of the UK’s fifth Enterprise Week which has inspired – and will run simultaneously with - the first ever Global Entrepreneurship Week.
- The overwhelming majority of people in Great Britain (70%) think that there are still opportunities for new businesses and ideas in the current economic downturn
- What’s more over half of the GB population (54%) are optimistic that entrepreneurs and business can pull us through the global economic downturn
- In a separate poll of businesses this figure increases to 92%
