The six members of Tellatale first met, age 14, at the Normanton Freeston Business and Enterprise College in Wakefield and started Tellatale in 2004 as part of a year-ten Young Enterprise project. When the project ended the boys decided to continue with the business. Fast-forward several years and Tellatale has gone from strength to strength.

The company’s most successful creation is a series of children’s adventure books featuring the fictional characters, Olly and Molly. Titles include Olly and Molly Discover London and Olly and Molly Discover Space. An increasingly popular educational resource – available in schools and libraries - all Tellatale books are presented and written in a format that makes reading fun and accessible to children of all abilities.

Building on the success of the Olly and Molly series, Tellatale recently won a £10,000 contract to produce a book featuring Middlesbrough Football Club that will use football to promote childhood reading. The company is also in the process of a major re-branding exercise to ensure that the quality of products reflects the passion and professionalism of the business.

Ross Bennett says: ‘It’s a great business and we all get along brilliantly - whether in a professional or social context. I’m so proud to be a part of this up-and-coming business, working with six people that I really respect. We’ve already achieved so much, but now we’re looking to the future and it looks incredibly bright. We’re working together to bring our ideas to life. What could be better than that?’

Tellatale’s core mission is to ensure that reading is a part of every child’s life.
