Sophie Jackson has come a long way since working in Thorntons - even a shop full of chocolate couldn’t stop her from achieving her dreams!

After a short training course in 2003, Sophie was encouraged to start writing freelance history articles, which were lapped up by various magazines including the Medieval History Magazine and Sutton Publishing offered her a deal to write The Medieval Christmas.

In October last year her second book The Horse in Myth and Legend was published and paved the way for the online monthly magazine focusing on social history.

The first issue was distributed in December and although Sophie is not yet aware of the reader figures, she is positive.

Her next goal is to open her own publishing house for local authors of fiction and non fiction.
