Make Your Mark in Wakefield

Make Your Mark in Wakefield logoWakefield presents some great opportunities for young people looking to make their ideas happen.

Wakefield offers great community spirit, has senior figures who are willing to act as champions, and boasts enormous potential for economic growth.

Wakefield is one of four regional centres in England to be chosen to deliver the Make Your Mark campaign at the local level. This is a coup for the region and an unrivalled opportunity to show the rest of the country what is happening in locally.

In March 2007 Sir Digby Jones, UK Skills Envoy and former CBI director general, joined local MP Ed Balls and other leading local figures in publicly pledging support for the Make Your Mark in Wakefield campaign. Read endorsements for our campaign

Supporting local services

There are already a great number of local services involving education, training, mentoring and start-up support. The Make Your Mark campaign aims to be a populist communications ‘front-end’ to light the initial spark of awareness or ambition that inspires young people to believe in their own entrepreneurial potential.

Make Your Mark inspires and informs young people of the opportunities that are available to them. Through connecting them to networks that support enterprise, we aim to encourage young people in Wakefield to take their ideas to the next level.
